  • Trunk Sale in the Retreat

This is an exclusive deal for only Sashiko Workshop Participants. I will bring as much supplies & items as possible.

There are so many items I’d love to introduce to you as you begin (or continue) your Sashiko journey with me. However, due to the limited capacity of our production, it's difficult to carry a large stock of supplies. For the retreat, I’ll do my best to bring as many Sashiko and Boro samples as possible, along with a selection of tools and materials. Please note that some items may sell out during the retreat, and I’d like to pack my luggage as efficiently as I can.

To help with this, I would greatly appreciate it if you could take a moment to browse what will be available at the Trunk Sale. If you already know what you'd like, please consider placing your order in advance. This allows me to prepare your items ahead of time—and if anything is low in stock, I’ll do my best to source it from Japan before the retreat.

As a small thank-you for helping me organize this journey, please enjoy the exclusive coupon below for 7% off your order. We rarely offer discount codes, and this one is available only to participants of A Gathering of Stitches.

    Coupon Code: 62GYW9NKPDKN

Please click here to learn how to apply the coupon on our website.

Orders placed with this coupon will be available for pick-up at the retreat. (If you’re unable to attend, your order can be shipped to you for the actual shipping cost.)

    Please note:

    • The 7% discount is not available for on-site purchases during the retreat.
    • The discount applies to most Sashiko supplies, but it does not apply to the Supply Package for the [Core & Essence] Workshop or to other services we provide.
    • The order will NOT be shipped until the actual Retreat in August 2025.

    Regular Sashiko Thread

    Cotton 100% / About 145 meter length

As I will explain in the workshop session on “Why Sashiko Thread Matters,” we use a very specific type of thread for our Sashiko practice. All of the large skeins come from the same manufacturer, with the following color options available:

    Synthetic Dye

    Natural Dye Sashiko Thread

    A small tagline

Colors from nature always surprise us—in the most beautiful ways. Just as fabric “breathes,” so does thread. We cherish the unique hues that emerge from each natural dye batch.

Keiko often speaks to the thread as she dyes it, treating each skein as a conversation. These threads are the creations of a Sashiko artisan who dyes them out of necessity—for her own “Sashiko.”

Please note: All threads are hand-dyed in small batches, and inventory is very limited. While we do our best to recreate each color, every skein is truly one-of-a-kind.

    Great Fabric for Sashiko

We introduce various kinds of the "Most Suitable Fabric"

Sashiko requires the right tools: proper Sashiko thread, a good needle, a stable thimble, and—most importantly—an understanding of its rhythm. Fabric, too, is a vital part of appreciating the culture behind the practice.

I will share many stories during the retreat and will also bring some excellent fabric for Sashiko, including a few one-of-a-kind, uniquely special pieces.
